From Blur to the Buzzcocks, Sound of Guns to The Streets, Charlatans to The Roses, Kings of Leon to the Killers, Oasis obviously to The Smiths, Kasabian to The Arctics,
When you have 5 different musicians in a band with differing age ranges from 17 to 27 people grow up being influenced by what they hear, each individual member brings there own influences and sounds they are listening to on their i-Pods and in weekly practice we try different things, Mano may bring a Bassline, Jono a vocal, Jay a sublime riff, Dave a guitar hook that has you randomly humming it 4 days later and Gaz, well Gaz is just a machine, one of the best drummers I have ever seen.
THE TWO 'N' EIGHTS formed in early October 2009 after meeting at a rehearsal room in the early hours of a Sunday morning, bleary eyed and talking nonsense they realised they shared a common belief in how music should sound and how gigs should make you feel.
They decided to hole themselves away 3 nights a week for 3 to 5 hour rehearsal sessions in their lock up and collectively wrote tune after tune about their daily life on the estates and town they lived in, the collective thought is there must be millions of people like us in the UK so let’s write songs about our experiences and if people relate to it great.
In the short time the band have been together they have played 27 gigs & festivals, they’ve gained air play on regional radio and played SOLD OUT shows at Birmingham’s 02 Academy and Wolverhamptons Wulfrun Hall.
They’ve supported a number of touring bands including the highly respected North East Detroit Social Club.
All this has led to the band building a strong following whose fans beg, steal and borrow the money to get to Two n Eights gigs.
After 27 gigs last year and a couple of very successful shows in London, a 2 hour radio show dedicated to them the band are now looking to tour the UK taking in Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham, Derby, Coventry, Bristol, Cardiff, Portsmouth and of course London.
As soon as this finishes we will be embarking on Festival Season taking us up to the middle of September.
In between all this we will be in the Studio finishing the Debut Album which we would like Two N Eights fans to help us name.
Described as sounding like the night before the morning after THE TWO 'N' EIGHTS will be appearing at a bar, club, scooter rally or football stadium in a town near you real soon so strap yourself in and enjoy the ride.
